Among the issues raised by Amnesty International:
• Concerns about the inadequate protection of civilians, in the capital Bangui and other parts of the country.
• That those involved in serious human rights violations on both sides be brought to justice.
• That their trials are swift and fair.
• To ensure that human rights are at the heart of the government's policy
The meeting, which ran for over an hour, was attended by the Minister of Justice, Minister for Gender Quality and Social Issues, The Chef de Cabinet, as well as Diplomatic and Legal advisors.
“It was a very good meeting. The President was very receptive to our concerns and we look forward to further dialogue”, said Christian Mukosa, CAR Researcher at Amnesty International.
