Media advisory: IU Bloomington provost to deliver State of the Campus address
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Lauren Robel, Indiana University Bloomington provost and university executive vice president, will deliver her 2014 State of the Campus address Tuesday, March 25, in Presidents Hall of Franklin Hall on the IU Bloomington campus.
The address, presented in keeping with the campus's Faculty Constitution and IU Bloomington tradition, will begin at 3 p.m. A reception with light refreshments will follow. Faculty, staff, students and the general public may view the address in person or in the following ways:
The provost will discuss the IU Bloomington Campus Strategic Plan, a comprehensive document developed by 167 faculty members, staff and students and dedicated to envisioning a third century of academic excellence for Indiana University. Team members worked to develop aspects of the plan in areas such as graduate and undergraduate education, excellence in research and creative activity, faculty renewal, international initiatives and interdisciplinary initiatives.
The planning process began last year. During the current semester, Robel has met with campus and community constituencies to discuss details. A public comment period ended this week. The campus will now define a timeline for implementing objectives leading to IU's bicentennial in 2020.
