Tulsa, Oklahoma - A four day course designed to train individuals to mediate family and divorce matters will be held in Tulsa from Wednesday, June 3rd through Saturday, June 6, 2009. The course meets the training requirements for professional mediators to qualify under the Oklahoma District Court Mediation Act and is approved by the Oklahoma Bar Association for mandatory continuing legal education. “This interactive mediation course addresses the financial, legal, social and psychological dynamics of family and divorce mediation”, said Shelly Kamm director of the Tulsa office. Attendees will examine mediation techniques used in divorce, property division, custody, visitation, grandparental matters, elder issues and cohabitation disputes.
Judges throughout Oklahoma are referring disputes to mediation in the hope that parities might resolve matters on a voluntary basis and avoid the stress and expensive of a legal court battle. Individuals who complete the course will receive a certificate and be qualified to assist in resolving family and divorce matters.
This course is a 40 hour training opportunity. Class size is limited. Registration for the course is $645.00 with a discount for not for profit organizations. For more information about the course, visit www.okolahomamediators.com or phone Shelly Harvill-Kamm, director, at 918-877-1427.
