Hope Medical Institute Virginia along with The Medical University of Lublin and the Medical University of Silesia celebrated their 14th Graduation Ceremony at The Renaissance in Portsmouth, Virginia on May 10th, 2014. The Medical University of Lublin's Dean Prof. Zaluska and Rector, Prof. Drop awarded diplomas to the graduating class of 2014. Hope Medical Institute’s CEO, Mr. Mahendra M. Patel, recognized the graduates who did extremely well on their board exams and received their choice of residencies in US hospitals. He also awarded the Highest achievement and Honor awards including an honorary award.
Mr. Patel addressed the class of 2014, and emphasized that “the path to become successful both professionally and personally is our attitude. Our attitude can lead us to writesuccessful stories or it can lead us to a complete fail. Therefore, it is important in life, to keep a positive attitude, help other human beings, and to be humble”. Hope Medical Institute also invited two alumni, Dr. Chirag Patel and Dr. Nisha Patel, to speak to the graduates.
Dr.Chirag Patel is a proud graduate of the Medical University of Lublin and Hope Medical Institute. He began his medical journey in 2001 through the 6 year program, following in his elder cousin’s footsteps. After obtaining his MD degree, he went on to match at The University of Kansas. While there, he completed his Internal Medicine Residency. This year he will complete his Pulmonary & Critical Care fellowship while serving as Chief Fellow. He has published papers in the field of Critical Care Medicine and has presented at national meetings. He has served as mentor to medical students and residents alike as well as being elected to serve as liaison to the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Dr. Nisha Patel, is a graduate of Medical University of Lublin and is Director of The Brain Injury Program in Maryland.
She did her Fellowship in Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries in North Carolina.
Dr. Patel is licensed in the states of NY, NC, MD and PA; Board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. She is a co-author of PM&R Review books including Pocketpedia and Q&A Book.
