On November 17, Sapienza’s Classical Arts Museum will host a seminar on “Medieval Warfare: War and Land between the 11th and 15th Centuries.”

The seminar, which will address the complex relationship between war and land during the Lower Middle Ages (11th-15th century) from both an archaeological and topographical point of view, aims to raise a multidisciplinary debate between scholars on the historical, archaeological and virtual reconstructions of warfare scenarios, settlement choices and architectural construction for defense and offense, as well as attack and defense techniques of fortified areas.

The seminar is promoted by Giorgia Maria Annoscia, Professor of Medieval Topography at the Department of Classics at Sapienza University.
