MOTHER RUSSIA, A PROFITABLE ESCAPE FROM THE CURRENT ECONOMIC DOWNTURN
Russian oligarchs’ love of British culture and etiquette is making those seeking money an irresistible offer

Mentor & Sons, London’s premier Anglo-Russian nanny agency, has announced on Monday, 5th of February, that nannies can earn up to £36,000p.a after tax and benefit from extravagant perks by looking after the Russian elite’s children.

When Lauren, a hard-working student from King’s College London, graduated with a high 2:1 in late 2009 she did so entering an extremely competitive job market. With little work experience, she found a job in the City yet was made redundant due to pressures to drive costs down in the current economic climate. This, according to Veronica Page, co-founder of Mentor & Sons, isn’t uncommon yet isn’t necessarily a bad situation – that is, if you’re into travelling and have an affinity for looking after children, of course!

An education consultant with the Russian elite including government Ministers and well-known art collectors among others, Veronica realised Russia’s elite are gaga for British. “It’s actually called Anglomania, and it applies to everything from couture and eqituette, to art and music. My clients want their kids to absorb British culture from an early age as they regard it very highly,” she says, “so recruiting aspiring, confident, well-educated nannies to do this seemed like the most natural thing.”

For wealthy Russian parents like Viktoria Kharitonova, wife of a top Russian banker and mother of two, British culture and language will give their children an edge in the European stage. “Our boys will be going to Harrow School in two years and we want them to fit in with their English peers and friends,” says Viktoria, “they need good language skills and cultural insight; we have hired an English nanny to give them just that.”

Whilst not a walk in the park, the job is nothing short of perks – amongst these, nannies will enjoy private jet holidays, yacht trips to exotic destinations, and lavish living accommodations.

Recommended by the Good Nanny Agency Guide (GNAG), Veronica’s London-based recruitment agency is offering British nannies the opportunity to travel and live abroad in luxury, and earn up to £36,000 (after tax) per year – the perfect cure to Labour’s economic legacy.
