Michael Kane, M.D. To Present At The American College Of Rheumatology's Annual Scientific Meeting

The six-day educational program will include workshops, study groups, abstract/research sessions, as well as pre-conference courses.

Dr. Kane will present a study, titled “Genetic Testing for Rituximab Responsiveness,” in which D2Hawkeye’s aggregate research database was used to examine the health benefits and costs of using pharmacogenetic testing to guide treatment decisions for patients with rheumatoid arthritis who have failed therapy with other disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs.

The D2Hawkeye aggregate research database used in the study included two years of medical and pharmaceutical claims for 11.2 million commercially insured individuals. The study was authored by Dr. Kane and J. Christian Kryder, M.D., Chief Executive Officer at D2; Surya Singh, M.D., Instructor of Medicine at Harvard University; and Sanjay Ghimire, M.D., a consulting physician and data mining expert at D2.
