AUSTIN, Texas – Join the more than 41,000 Texans who have learned how to prepare their homes for natural disasters from FEMA mitigation specialists at local home improvement stores.

Hurricane season began this month, making it a great time to meet with a FEMA expert and learn how to prepare for extreme weather. Our mitigation specialists will provide tips and techniques on how to repair and build hazard-resistant homes using proven methods to prevent future flood damage.

Specialists are eager to meet with anyone who has questions about disaster preparedness, even if Hurricane Harvey did not affect them.
