The Anna Lindh Foundation is organizing in collaboration with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina the Encounter of Dawrak (In Arabic: Moltaqa). The Moltaqa will be a major gathering for civil society organizations and major actors in the intercultural dialogue field in order to highlight the achievements of Dawrak after three years of implementation in nine Arab countries, by underlining from different components the inside success stories, the short falls and challenges faced during implementation.
The activating is planned to take place on the 1st and 2nd of December 2014 in Alexandria (Egypt). Around 300 participants will be invited to attend the Moltaqa. 200 of them will be selected through a Call for Participation among beneficiaries and ALF Networks and divided as follows:
Around 175 will be nationals of one of 10 Arab countries (Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Syria and Tunisia); ALF membership and/or previous participation in Dawrak activities will be an asset.
25 other participants will be targeted among organisations and initiatives from other Euro-Mediterranean countries who took part in the Dawrak activities over the past three years.
The working language of the Dawrak – Citizens for Dialogue Moltaqa will be Arabic. French and/or English translation will be provided throughout the whole duration of the Moltaqa.
