Mole Group wins E3 Business Innovation Award

Mole Group, a Wirral-based engineering and drilling company, has been crowned as the winner of the Business Innovation Award at the prestigious E3 Business Awards 2013.

Mole Group, a Wirral-based engineering and drilling company, has been crowned as the winner of the Business Innovation Award at the prestigious E3 Business Awards 2013.
 
More than 700 guests from the North West regional business community attended the awards ceremony at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton on February 7, where Mole Group saw off fierce competition to take home the coveted prize. In his closing remarks, Managing Director of 1 Events Media Mubarak Chati noted that “These may be challenging economic conditions but there are still many hard-working companies out there reporting growth in turnover, profits and the creation of new employment. It is these unsung heroes of the North West economy that the E3 Awards were founded to celebrate.”
 
Mole Group primarily provides underground engineering solutions including directional drilling, “moling”, pipe replacement and garden drainage systems, but has developed a range of “green” products including the award-winning Combisave device. Combisave fits to domestic combi-boilers to accelerate the heating of water, saving both water and energy. It was for this innovative approach to developing new products that the company was selected from amongst hundreds of nominees across the North West to receive the award.
 
After picking up the trophy, Mole’s managing director Dave Furlong said: “Winning the Business Innovation Award is a great achievement for the team at Mole. We believe that Combisave is a genuinely innovative product with the potential to save individuals hundreds of pounds on their gas and water bills. Wirral is becoming a real centre for innovation and engineering solutions and we are delighted to be part of that.”
