MoneyGram International, Affinity Global Services to Launch Mobile Money Transfer Service
MoneyGram International has teamed up with Affinity Global Services, a mobile financial services company, to offer mobile money transfer services across the globe. MoneyGram's agent global network of about more than 180,000 locations will be accessible by the existing mobile users for their money transfer needs.
Affinity Global's MADE™ Platform will facilitate MoneyGram in attaining connectivity to any mobile network operator. Both the parties are in discussion with a mobile network operator for launching their services to consumers later this year.
The partnership will serve a new customer segment - the mobile device users. Morevoer, in developing economies increasing number of individuals are using mobile phones. The partnership between Moneygram International and Affinity Global Services will facilitate a deeper penetration in the market. The alliance will enable MoneyGram to access mobile network operators in key corridors such like Latin America, Asia and Africa.
