For Immediate Release

As the Upper Valley business community expands and evolves, the Montshire Museum of Science has reexamined and revamped its business membership program by offering more benefits and a new name: the Montshire Business Partnership. These changes better reflect the intersection of business, community, and science that is at the heart of the Montshire’s relationship with local organizations.

The Montshire has added several new benefits to the program. In addition to two free events each year, employees of Montshire Business Partnership companies will receive savings on admission to monthly Montshire Unleashed events, and discounts on purchases in the Museum Store during the annual Shop Save Explore! event. Participating companies will receive 10 free admission passes for customers or employees, in addition to networking opportunities, advertising, and other forms of public recognition. Moving forward, programs for company executives will explore topics at the intersection of business and science.

The fee for participation in the program varies, depending on the size of the organization:

$350 for new members and sole proprietors

$450 for companies with fewer than 250 employees

600 for companies with over 250 employees

“We work in partnership with the region’s businesses to create a vibrant community and to foster greater understanding and appreciation for science,” said Jennifer Rickards, Deputy Director of the Montshire. “The new benefits package and name, the Montshire Business Partnership, will allow us to better communicate the opportunities for local businesses to participate and to partner with us toward shared goals.

The Museum has offered a business membership program since 1980, with approximately 50 businesses who currently participate and receive benefits for their employees, as well as opportunities for their companies. These businesses include hospitals, realtors, financial institutions, restaurants, publications, and local services.

“Hypertherm is part of the Montshire Business Partnership because we value science education, a vibrant community, and the opportunities for our Associates to visit and participate in the special events at the Museum,” explains Jenny Levy, Vice President for Corporate Social Responsibility, Hypertherm. “We encourage other businesses to join us.”

Through the Montshire Business Partnership, the Montshire aims to strengthen its connection with the community by working with organizations that share its commitment to and appreciation of science in the Vermont-New Hampshire area.

“Our region is full of businesses that are based in science, and many share our commitment to building a community that is well positioned for recruiting and retaining a strong workforce,” said Rickards. “We invite them to join the Montshire Business Partnership.”
