(NASDAQ: MORN), today announced the winning funds and fund houses of the Morningstar Singapore Fund Awards 2014. The Morningstar Singapore Fund Awards recognize retail funds and fund houses that added the most value for investors within the context of their relevant peer group in 2013 and over the longer term. Winners are selected using a quantitative methodology with a qualitative overlay developed by Morningstar that considers the one-, three-, and five-year performance history of all eligible funds. Morningstar adjusts the returns for risk using Morningstar Risk, a measure that imposes a higher penalty for downside variation in a fund’s return than it does for upside volatility. The fund house award, Morningstar Best Equity Fund House, acknowledges the fund group with the strongest risk-adjusted performance across its fund line-up. “We are pleased to have a mix of high-quality asset managers winning awards across our equity and fixed-interest fund categories this year. Our equity fund house winner, Schroders, is an established investment manager that is well regarded by investors globally. Over the years, Schroders has delivered outstanding risk-adjusted returns across a range of equity funds that are of high relevance to investors in Singapore,” Wing Chan, Morningstar Asia’s director of fund research, said. The winners of the Morningstar Singapore Fund Category Awards 2014 are:EQUITY FUND CATEGORY and FUND SHARE CLASS WINNERAsia ex-Japan Equity: Schroder Asian Growth Fund SGD ClassAsia-Pacific Equity: Fidelity Funds – Pacific Fund A-USDEurope Equity: Franklin European Growth A Acc EURGlobal Emerging Markets Equity: Fidelity Funds – Emerging Markets Fund A-USDGlobal Equity: Natixis International Funds (Lux) I – Harris Associates Global Equity Fund R/A (USD)Greater China Equity: Schroder ISF Hong Kong Equity Class AJapan Large-Cap Equity: Parvest Equity Japan Classic CapitalisationSingapore Equity: Schroder Singapore Trust Class AU.S. Equity: Fidelity Funds – America Fund A-USDFIXED-INTEREST FUND CATEGORY and FUND SHARE CLASS WINNERAsia Bond: Eastspring Investments - Asian Bond Fund Class ADQGlobal Bond: Templeton Global Total Return Fund A (ydis) EURHigh-Yield Bond: BGF Global High Yield Bond Fund (A2 USD share class)The winner of the Morningstar Singapore Fund House Award 2014 is:FUND HOUSE CATEGORY and FUND HOUSE WINNERBest Equity Fund House: Schroder Investment Management (Singapore) Ltd.The Morningstar Singapore Fund Awards are based on Morningstar fund data for the period of 1 January 2013 to 31 December 2013.
