Two Students Will Earn College Credits, Build Portfolio at Pre-College Art Lab
(Kansas City, MO) April 17, 2014 – MRIGlobal today announced that it will award two students from Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts with full scholarships to attend the Kansas City Art Institute’s Pre-College Art Lab.
Students Clinton Long, junior, and Dakota Niederhauser, sophomore, will receive the scholarships. After completing the Art Lab program, the students will earn three hours of college credit.
“Scholarships to Kansas City Art Institute’s Pre-College Art Lab present Clinton and Dakota with three intense, art-filled weeks to experience the commitment it takes to be an artist,” said Pamela Sahl, Chair of Visual Arts at the Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts. “It’s a rare opportunity few young artists receive and quite an honor for our students. I applaud MRIGlobal for its generosity and commitment to Paseo.”
In the last five years, MRIGlobal has provided scholarships to nine Paseo students who are selected on the basis of artistic and scholastic accomplishment in their high school years.
The scholarship presentation will be made during the senior art show and sale at Paseo Academy, 4747 Flora, on Thursday, April 17 at 6:45 p.m.

About The Kansas City Art Institute’s Pre-College Art Lab KCAI’s Pre-College Art Lab (PCAL) is a three-week, residency program for high school students and graduating seniors. Students accepted into the PCAL program will choose a studio major and also take a liberal arts course as well as an intensive life drawing course. The program will help students discover firsthand the commitment it takes to be an artist. The 2014 session runs July 6 -25.
