UCLA Student Wins Travel Scholarship to Present Research at Conference
(Kansas City, MO) March 20, 2014 – MRIGlobal is proud to announce the winner of its travel award to attend the annual conference of the Society of Toxicology Conference in Phoenix.
Vanessa Nuñez, an undergraduate student at the University of California, Los Angeles, will receive the award to travel to the prestigious conference where she will present her research as an MRIGlobal-sponsored scholar.
Ms. Nuñez will be introduced at a special Hispanic Organization of Toxicologists event by Robert P. Casillas, Ph.D., Vice President of Global Health Security, MRIGlobal. The travel award is presented March 25 at the Hispanic Organization Annual Reception at the conference.
The Society of Toxicology Conference, held March 23-27, 2014, is the world’s largest forum to showcase discoveries and achievements in toxicology research. More than 6,500 of the world’s leading researchers and scientists from academia, government, and industry participate in lectures, training, and scientific sessions.
Ms. Nuñez’s research explores gene-environment interactions implicated in Parkinson’s Disease using a parquat and maneb model In Drosophila.
