MSU student Amy Paruk has been recognized by the Michigan Lodging and Tourism Association for her exceptional work as a banquet captain with the Kellogg Center. Paruk formally accepted her award for the 2013 Outstanding Student of the Year at the Pure Michigan Governor’s Conference.
Paruk, a human development and family studies junior, began at the Kellogg Center as a banquet server during her first semester at MSU. Paruk has since been promoted to crew leader, bartender and trainer positions, eventually establishing herself as a banquet captain.
“My favorite aspect of working at the Kellogg Center is interacting with people,” Paruk said. “The guests and my colleagues guide me in building and framing my professional experience.”
