NAMFS Announces Launch of Its ALLIANCE
style="display:inline">
STOW, Ohio ̶ April 12, 2011 ̶ The National Association of Mortgage Field Services (NAMFS), the premier trade association for the mortgage field services industry, in collaboration with Lender Processing Services (LPS), a leading provider of integrated technology, data and analytics to the mortgage, real estate and lending industries, today announced the May 1 launch of ALLIANCE. This new online tool, found on the NAMFS website, www.namfs.org, will facilitate and streamline communication and collaboration between local code enforcement officials and the top national field services providers for the mortgage servicing industry.
Code enforcement officials can use ALLIANCE to register and input property-specific information, including code-related issues; potential fines for code-related issues if they are not addressed; and supporting comments. NAMFS’ participating members then receive this information in real time and agree to (a) review those violations and initiate contact with the appropriate code enforcement officer by 5 p.m. the next business day, or (b) indicate they do not service the property.
Access to the Web-based tool is free to both local code enforcement and participating national providers.
For the last two years, LPS has played host to more than 2,000 code enforcement officials at dozens of code enforcement summits around the country with the goal of helping the code enforcement community work through these challenging times. Other national field services providers have joined LPS at these summits to emphasize the collaborative nature of this outreach effort.
“LPS realized from its experiences in code enforcement outreach that NAMFS, the industry trade association, was the perfect independent platform to broaden and deepen efforts at working with local code enforcement professionals to solve vacant property problems,” said Eric Miller, executive director of NAMFS. “ALLIANCE allows for a cooperative exchange of information that enables all parties involved to connect via a common platform and share information before engaging in a lengthy and potentially expensive violation recording and remediation process.”
“Since the first code enforcement summit in February 2009, LPS has continued to routinely bring together local code enforcement and field services companies for the purposes of education and, more importantly, the establishment of communication to resolve local issues,” said Rob Hicks, first vice president of Industry Relations for LPS. “This unified industry effort not only demonstrates the level of collaboration and cooperation at LPS’ code enforcement summits, but also provides local code enforcement officials with a free, powerful and efficient management tracking tool.”
