At Kanteerava Studios, the Karnataka Government set up a memorial for Rajkumar after his demise with a stock of movies, dialogue, scripts, songs and other memorabilia associated with the actor. The studio, located in Bangalore, has become a pilgrim and tourist spot since Rajkumar’s death, with thousands of fans coming to pay homage to his memory.

Initially the memorial was laid with wooden flooring, which looked wonderful, but it had few set of difficulties. Most common being too hot to walk barefeet in scorching heat. Also due to warping of wood due to rain and heat, it was not a favourable walking surface.

The architect Mr. Ganesh of Studio 69 mentioned the requirement at a very prominent location- The Dr.Rajkumar Memorial at Kanteerava Studios,Bangalore. Namgrass met the concerned persons,showed the samples and then at the very first meeting Namgrass Grass was accepted. Mr. Ragavendra Rajkumar ( Son of Late Dr. Rajkumar) was the main person who had approved Green Oasis.
