National Amusements is set to install Barco digital cinema projectors for more than 240 screens distributed across 26 of its complexes throughout Brazil and Argentina. Barco is providing the brightest, most reliable projectors, supported by locally-based technical support and training, and a convenient network of parts depots. The exhibitor is using GDC Technology’s VPF program, which offers higher flexibility and lower upfront costs according to John Bilsborough, National Amusements’ SVP Operations.
Founded in 1936, National Amusements currently operates more than 900 movie screens worldwide under its Showcase Cinemas, Showcase Cinema de Lux, Showcase SuperLux, Multiplex Cinemas, and UCI Cinemas brands.
Under the working arrangement, Xenon Servicios and Kelonik do Brasil will roll-out the installation and integration of Barco DLP Cinema® projectors with GDC Technology’s SX-3000 Standalone IMB®.
“Reliability of the equipment involved is one of the keys to a successful VPF program,” said Dr. Man-Nang Chong, founder and CEO of GDC Technology. “With our technical leadership and quality products backed by our prompt service support, we are proud to be National Amusements’ choice for its conversion to digital in Brazil and Argentina.”
