National Bank lends a Valérie Blass work of art to the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal
Montreal, 2 February 2012 -
National Bank is proud to participate in theValérie Blassexhibition by lending to the
Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal
(MACM)
a piece by this world-renowned sculptor, taken from its Corporate Art Collection. The exhibition will run from February 2 to April 22, 2012 at MACM located at 185 Sainte-Catherine Street West in Montreal.
EntitledCette jeune femme ne sait pas s’habiller, this particular sculpture was completed by the Montreal artist in 2008. Considered Valérie Blass’ signature work, the sculpture is one of the thirty some pieces presented in the exhibition — the largest exhibition of Valérie Blass work ever organized. “Raising public awareness to local artists’ production is at the heart of the Corporate Collection. Therefore it made sense for National Bank to collaborate with the MACM so that a full panorama of Valérie Blass’ work be presented”, said art historian Jo-Ann Kane, Curator of the National Bank Collection and President of theAssociation des Collections d’entreprises du Québec.
