NAVY-MARINE CORPS RELIEF SOCIETY EARNS 4-STAR RATING FROM CHARITY NAVIGATOR FOR FIFTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR

Arlington, VA, Monday, March 5, 2018 – Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society’s sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency have earned it a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator.  This is the fifth consecutive year that Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society has earned this distinction.

Attaining a 4-star rating verifies that Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in your area of work. Only 9% of the charities we evaluate have received at least 5 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society outperforms most other charities in America,” according to Michael Thatcher, President and CEO, Charity Navigator.  “This exceptional designation from Charity Navigator sets Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society apart from its peers and demonstrates to the public its trustworthiness.”

“The Society is honored to be recognized for our financial accountability and transparency to donors, and our dedication to the men and women of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps,” said Admiral Steve Abbot, President and CEO, Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society. “This 5th consecutive 4-star rating from Charity Navigator demonstrates that ethical business practices and responsible use of donors’ dollars are ingrained in the fabric of our organization, 24/7, around the globe. We are steadfast in our commitment to the highest standards of service.”
