NEC Demos Openflow at Supercomputing 2011

Irving, TX - November 15, 2011 -- NEC Corporation of America (NEC) announces its ProgrammablFlow network virtualization technology is demoing in booth 2543 (RAID, Inc.) at Supercomputing 2011 (SC11), November 14-17, 2011 at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle, WA. NEC ProgrammableFlow technology is also a part of the 10 Gbps, multi-vendor OpenFlow network testbed, a joint effort between the SCinet Research Sandbox (SRS) and the SC11 Technical Program. OpenFlow is being showcased as part of the Disruptive Technologies sessions in the technical program.

Interest in OpenFlow has increased in recent months as companies explore controller based networks for a variety of applications. NEC's ProgrammableFlow is the first commercially available hybrid switch and controller that supports both OpenFlow and traditional network environments.
Leveraging an open architecture, ProgrammableFlow allows organizations to reduce the cost and complexity of traditional networking architectures and achieve greater levels of automation. NEC's ProgrammableFlow technology has most recently been represented at the OpenFlow Symposium and GestaltIT's Network Field Day 2. |
