GPS monitoring and geo-tagged data added to Locality; automatic client updating added to both
Seattle, WA – August 13, 2014 – NetMotion Wireless, provider of mobility management software and solutions, today announced enhanced functionality for its Locality Server 2.1, and the latest Mobility 10.51 software. Locality Server 2.1 can now export detailed, geo-tagged signal coverage and quality data for upload into GIS systems. It also provides tracking for GPS status, allowing organizations to identify faulty GPS devices, spot sub-optimal performance and monitor employee GPS usage. Mobility 10.51 provides an automatic update capability for the Mobility client on Windows devices. This service can also be used to install and update Locality agents on those Windows devices.
“As organizations increasingly rely on applications that are tied to GPS services, monitoring and troubleshooting these devices becomes increasingly important,” said Joe Savarese, NetMotion Wireless CTO. “Similarly, enterprises that use GIS solutions, like ESRI, will benefit from linking real user location and connectivity data to their GIS maps. These features provide increased operational intelligence that improves productivity, technology utilization and mobile worker safety.”
Locality Server also features a new console optimized for HTML5-compatible browsers, allowing administrators to manage Locality from any device that supports HTML5. Locality Cloud user management is also improved, giving IT administrators access to create new users, modify existing user privileges, delete users and reset passwords.”
In parallel with the Locality enhancements, NetMotion Wireless expanded Mobility functionality to remotely update Windows Mobility clients and install or upgrade Windows Locality agents over the network. This eliminates the need to bring Windows devices back to corporate to do future upgrades. Administrators can push an update to individual Windows devices, groups of devices or an entire deployment in real time, or schedule updates during non-peak periods like evenings or weekends. Administrators can even allow users to interrupt an update or defer it to a more convenient time in their workday.”
“These new features provide enterprise IT teams with a greater toolset for managing their mobile deployments,” continued Savarese. “They ensure that IT is well-equipped to monitor, analyze and manage their mobile deployments over the networks they don’t own with an unprecedented level of ease.”
Locality Server 2.10 and Mobility 10.51 are now available. Visit www.NetMotionWireless.com or call 866-262-7626 for additional information.
