Go Green! A new carpooling service, developed with carpooling specialist BRiNGME, is now available to help students, professors and employees move around Sapienza University campuses and external departments.
The new Sapienza carpooling service allows registered users to share rides between its various campuses and buildings throughout the City of Rome. Students and employees can now connect to the on-line university carpooling service with a PC, tablet or smartphone and find a ride or look for passengers.
This new and environmentally-friendly service kicks off with 15 university locations: the main Sapienza campus; downtown departments such as Valle Giulia, Fontanella Borghese, San Pietro in Vincoli and Via Salaria and more distant branches such as the Ospedale Sant’Andrea and the campuses in Latina, Rieti and Aprilia.
“The new Sapienza carpooling service provides the university with a modern tool that promotes sustainable mobility,” emphasizes Rector Luigi Frati. “It is available to everyone who wants to share a ride with colleagues, save money and reduce both traffic and energy consumption.”
Indeed, a carpooling service that addresses 3500 employees, 4500 professors and researchers and over 100,000 students has the potential to play a role in improving Rome’s chaotic traffic.
