Have you ever wanted to name a sports team? Well now is your chance.
The Coastal Plain League is bringing baseball to Holly Springs, N.C., in 2015, and the new Holly Springs franchise is holding a “Name the Team” contest to get the community’s help with picking the team’s nickname. The contest officially starts today, September 2 and will run through September 12. The contest is open to anyone, but is limited to just one entry per fan.
The fan(s) who suggest the nickname that is selected by the new Holly Springs franchise will be entered into a drawing, where one (1) person will win the Grand Prize, which includes a special complementary game night package at the ballpark in 2015. The Grand Prize winner and up to 10 of their family or friends will enjoy a complementary picnic at the ballpark before the game, a new replica team jersey and hat, a special on-field recognized announcement, and a ceremonial first pitch prior to a 2015 home game at Holly Springs.
Additionally, everyone who enters the contest will be entered into another separate drawing, where 10 lucky fans will be selected for unique Holly Springs team prizes, including replica jerseys, team hats, t-shirts, game tickets, logo baseballs, etc.
The Holly Springs franchise has also committed to donate one game ticket to a children’s charity to a 2015 regular season home game for every “Name the Team” contest entry submitted. Furthermore, if the contest reaches the 1,000 submitted entry mark, then the Holly Springs franchise will donate $1,000 to a selected charity as well.
So you think you have the perfect nickname for the new Holly Springs Coastal Plain League franchise, then fill out an official entry form that can be found at www.coastalplain.com/hollysprings. The new Holly Springs franchise will hold a press conference later in September to announce the new team nickname and all the contest winners.
