New IBM ILOG Products Help Customers React Faster to Business Challenges
Innovation of ILOG Products to Continue Under IBM; New Offerings Include New Supply Chain Applications and a Business Rule Management System
SUNNYVALE, Calif. and PARIS – June 17, 2009 –ILOG, an IBM Company (NYSE: IBM), today announced new offerings across its business rule management and supply chain management portfolio of products to help enterprises analyze an ever-increasing flow of data and make smarter decisions about their operations and the customers they serve.
The new products provide professionals in a range of industries – including banking, insurance, airlines, healthcare, government, manufacturing and others – with tools to make better decisions as part of business operations. For example, more business user friendly features in the latest release of IBM ILOG's new business rule management system (BRMS) lets managers, analysts, architects and developers more easily develop and deploy business rules.
Decisions – ranging from whether to accept a loan application or pay a health care claim, to whether a credit card transaction should be flagged as suspect or awarded loyalty points – are critical to businesses. However, this can be challenging since they are embedded into traditional software solutions where they can’t be accessed. IBM ILOG BRMS automates these decisions and allows businesses to make quick, safe and effective changes to these business rules to speed business response time.
In the new version, IBM ILOG’s supply chain management applications have been enhanced to analyze more detailed parameters, including global tax implications, and the potential financial impact of carbon emissions in supply chains. IBM ILOG Supply Chain Applications help companies address global supply chain design and sourcing strategies, transportation planning, production planning and scheduling, and the optimal flow and placement of inventory.
“The ability to make rapid and informed operational, tactical and strategic decisions is at the core of any successful enterprise. The new ILOG products give key professionals, in a range of industries, the tools they need to accomplish this, while working smarter, understanding more and communicating better,” said Craig Hayman, vice president, WebSphere, IBM Software Group. “Innovation in the areas of business rule management, optimization, supply chain management and visualization, as exemplified by ILOG’s products, will continue at IBM.”
