Powered by KOHLER® diesel engines and equipped with advanced new controllers, three generators combine toughness and dependability in a more compact size

KOHLER, Wis.– Oct. 28, 2011 –KOHLER Power Systemshas brought three new marine generators to the pleasure boating marketplace, adding a trio of smaller, lighter and more advanced models to the company’s already well-respected lineup of diesel-powered marine gensets. Available in three power categories – 6 kW, 8.5 kW and 11 kW – these models feature new controllers which neatly combine sophisticated functionality with a clean and easy-to-use interface.

• The6EKOD, 6kW model is powered by a three-cylinder, four-cycle KOHLER® diesel engine with its own internal cooling system. At 30.7” x 20.8” x 22.0” enclosed, this size is typically used on small pleasure craft. It is available in both 50 and 60 hertz models and weighs less than previous models at 490 pounds.

• The9EKOZD8.5kW model is powered by a three-cylinder, four-cycle, internally cooled KOHLER diesel engine. It’s more compact at 34.1” x 20.8” x 22.0” enclosed, as well as more lightweight at 548 pounds. It is available at either 50 or 60 hertz.

• The11EKOZD11kW model is powered by a KOHLER® four-cylinder, four-cycle diesel engine with an internal cooling system. It features a smaller size at 37.8” x 20.8” x 22.0” enclosed and weighs less than past models at 616 pounds. It is also available in 50 or 60 hertz models and single-or three-phase.

• These three new generators each feature new advanced controllers that provide trouble-free operation while offering convenient new features that boaters will appreciate.

• The controller features two-buttons (Power and Start/Stop) and a two-line, 12-character display.

• A rotating push-button knob allows for simple setups and programming, and an easily accessible USB port provides for quick software and event log downloads.

• The new controller has a power management microprocessor, as well as a fuel primer and a hybrid voltage regulator.

• The controller offers selectable Smartcraft® V1.0, NEMA 2000,SAE J1939 CANbus outputs.
