New Player in the Game of Timeshare Scamming

It seems there is a new player in the game of scamming innocent timeshare owners into purchasing help to move their timeshares. It has been cold-calling individuals who own timeshares offering to assist the owners in selling their timeshares.

Leipzig, Saxony, Germany., March 12, 2013 - (PressReleasePoint) - 

here has been a new scamming scheme that aims to fraud innocent timeshare owners into purchasing help to move their timeshares, notably, ASI (Action Services International) what is one of the newest in a group of four similarly-named companies. ASI agents call individuals who are owning timeshares and offer them to assist in selling their timeshares. In this call they tell the owner to go to Spain to take a legal action against their timeshare company on a "no-win no-fee" basis. As well they are being offered a "disposal service" where they would buy the timeshare if the user pays an upfront fee. Some users of website http://www.tellows.co.uk/ have also commented on this scam, user mmj saying

Told that I was a former owner of time share and so was entitled to a week’s holiday for 6 anywhere in the world accomodation only but had to agree within 3 days and pay up front.

Unfortunately, this occurs more than you may think. It is very important to contact  resort first before signing up to anything. Good news are that many timeshare companies are now changing their regulations in order to combat fraud such as this, but it is still very important to be aware of such a cases.
