The UA has been named among the top 13 public universities in the western region of the U.S. with the best return on investment.

The UA has one of the best returns on investment among schools in the Western U.S., offering a "high-caliber education at a public university price," according to BestValueSchools.com The website ranked the UA No. 8 in the Western region.
Other schools on the list included the University of Washington and the University of California, Berkeley. The UA was the only Arizona school to make the list.
The educational site, BestValueSchools.com, named the UA 8th in a list of 13 western U.S. institutions with the best return on investment. The list includes the likes of the University of Washington and the University of California, Berkeley.
"Since most individuals looking to achieve higher education desire to maximize the potential value of their education, many students seek information about the return on investment of the degree they earn," the site notedin announcing its rankings, which consider net investment benefits over a 30-year period. "This enables a student interested in attending school in the Western part of the U.S. to get a good sense of the top rated universities with the highest potential net return on investment."
In its evaluation of the top higher education institutions in four U.S. regions, BestValueSchools.com considered each school's U.S. News & World Report rankings and measurements from PayScale.com, a Web-based company that analyzes salary and benefits information across a range of sectors.
PayScale calculated the 30-year median pay, adjusted for inflation, based on the cost of attendance for students who earned a bachelor's degrees in 2012.
About the UA, the BestValueSchools.com team noted the UA is "one of the most accessible high quality universities in the country."
During the fall, BestValueSchools.com named the UA's Student Recreation Center one of the "most impressive" student recreation centers in the nation.
