LIMERICK, Ireland. A new blog about Irish Rugby has been launched. The authors behind the blog are a mix of international and local Rugby Aficionado's. The Editor-In-Chief for the blog expressed his delight at being able to get the blog off the ground. The blog will be launched In February 2009 and is already attracting conversation ... and the odd disagreement.

"What better place for a Rugby blog in Ireland than Limerick? Limerick is Rugby-mad and we don't have a deep-rooted vested interests that often hold back the sport in Ireland, and other countries. We just want to see the best players playing a good game, regardless of where they're from" says one of the local contributors and staff correspondent for the blog, "The Popular Side".

The staff and contributors, which include local supporters, former players and international writers, will all remain anonymous. This is to give the blog a uniform feel and approach, which the team thinks is working well. "It allows our writers to get involved in the conversation and to express themselves without worrying about the blog." says one of the staff writers, a South African national and former player, now based in Ireland.

The Rugby blog is hosted at http://popularsiderugby.blogspot.com.
