Nice Sings in Tune to the 14th Edition of Manca Festival 2010
There would be an air of excitement in the beautiful city of Nice when the Manca Festival makes its presence known as the first musical tune is heard.
.
HolidayCity.com – The 14th edition of the Manca Festival would be held from 13th – 21st November 2010 to the delight of music fans from the region, France and the neighboring countries. Organized by the Centre National de Création Musicale de Nice with the objective of introducing and enhancing the popularity of contemporary music, the festival brings together talented musicians from all corners of the world. Thousands of music fans are expected to crowd the venues and making last-minute booking for Nice hotels may prove to be a challenge.
Manca, which stands for "Musiques Actuelles Nice Côte d'Azur”, offers an amazing array of music genres ranging from the classical to contemporary. The main objective of the festival is to focus on ensuring the continuity of the artistic movement of contemporary music. Throughout the festival, visitors can enjoy a repertoire of musical performances as well as theatrical and dance shows, film screenings and exhibitions. With different offerings every night and some in the afternoon, they would certainly be spoilt for choice.
This year, music fans would be treated to the compositions of Philippe Leroux which would open the festival with ‘We Continue’, a part written for a complete orchestra.
Lee Lai Huat, CEO of HolidayCity.com and a fan of contemporary music said, “Nice is the place to be in November especially for lovers of music everywhere. With an interesting and eclectic offering of different performances throughout the festival, visitors get to experience a range of musical genres such as ensemble music, soloists and large orchestras. There would also be something for the younger crowd with the Mini-Manca Festival, which includes concerts, shows and gatherings in schools and culture centers.” He went on further to remark, “The excitement continues with Manc’Art Design, an exhibition on musicgraph. With hundreds of music fans expected to visit the festival, it would be better to make booking for Nice accommodation in advance.”
