Nine Key Staff Added as SSOE's Business Grows in Chicago
Chicago, IL February 17, 2009 - SSOE, Inc., one of the nation's largest architecture and engineering firms, announces the growth of their Chicago office with the addition ofMike Pusich, Business Leader,Bob Davidson, Department Manager,Ed Mackin, Department Manager,David Chicoine, Senior Project Manager,Chris Piotrowski, Senior Project Manager,Ken Truelsen, Senior Project Manager,Les Okunowski, Senior Architect,Jim Seymour, Senior Electrical Engineer, andDean Thompson, Senior Mechanical Engineer. These professionals have considerable experience working together for a Design / Build firm providing technical services to specialty markets such as aviation, life-sciences, printing and publishing, and institutional projects prior to joining SSOE.
Mike Pusich, AIA, NCARB joins SSOE as the Business Leader for Chicago operations. He is responsible for general operations and business development in the regional market. Pusich has more than 30 years of architectural and consulting services experience for significant manufacturing, healthcare, and publishing clients throughout the U.S. such as Best Foods / Hellmann's, Rotary Offset Press, and TRW Automotive. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Illinois.
Bob Davidson, RA, NCARB has over 25 years of architectural experience with complex projects in pharmaceutical / life sciences and industrial building types. He joins SSOE as an Architectural Department Manager and is responsible for the overall development of technical personnel. Some of his other responsibilities include the preparation of construction drawings and specifications along with documentation, preparation of project budget, contract documents, construction administration, specification writing, and implementation. Davidson received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Illinois and has been involved throughout his career with the ALA (Association of Licensed Architects) in Illinois where he is the current chapter president.
Ed Mackin, PE joins SSOE as the Automotive and Industrial Facilities Regional Project Management Department Manager and is responsible for training and maintaining staff, and assigning resources to meet client deadlines. Mackin has more than 30 years of management experience and over 20 years of experience in preconstruction and planning services with major clients such as Caterpillar, Motorola, and Pfizer. He received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago and his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois.
David Chicoine, RA, NCARB has over 30 years of extensive design and project coordination experience specializing in laboratories, research and development, and pharmaceutical facilities. He joins SSOE as a Senior Project Manager and is responsible for programming and design initiation on select projects. He contributes further in the design and engineering phases through the establishment of safe and efficient building layouts integrated with a laboratory's complex mechanical and electrical systems. Chicoine received his Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan.
Chris Piotrowski, PE joins SSOE as a Senior Engineering Project Manager and is responsible for overall project management and coordination of engineering, procurement, construction, scheduling, estimating, and cost control. Piotrowski has nearly 40 years of diversified project experience and has worked with major clients such as Aldrich Chemical Company, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and Pfizer. He received his Master of Engineering Management and Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and is a licensed professional engineer in four states. Piotrowski has future plans to obtain his Project Management Professionals certification (PMP). He is also a member of the IEEE, the IEEE Industry Applications Society, and the IEEE Engineering Management Society.
Ken Truelsen, RA joins SSOE as a Senior Architectural Project Manager and is responsible for overall project management and coordination of design, engineering, procurement, construction, scheduling, estimating, and cost control. Truelsen has more than 30 years of diversified project experience and has worked with major clients such as Abbott, Boeing, and Pfizer. He received his Bachelor of Science in Building Construction and Bachelor of Architecture from Kansas State University.
Les Okunowski, AIA, NCARB joins SSOE as a Senior Architect and is responsible for overseeing the development of construction documents and specifications, coordinating architectural efforts with the other disciplines, assisting in developing construction budgets, budget adherence and most important quality control of the architectural drawings and specifications. Okunowski has more than 30 years of architectural services experience with an industrial focus which includes work for clients such as Boeing, Motorola, and the USPS. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Illinois.
Jim Seymour, joins SSOE as a Senior Electrical Engineer and is responsible for preparing construction documents and specifications, reviewing shop drawings, and coordinating electrical documents with in-house engineering departments and field construction forces. Seymour has nearly a decade of design experience involving building electrical design, lighting design, lighting control design, and fire alarm and security system design with clients such as 3M, Abbott, and Chevron. He received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
Dean Thompson, PE has over 30 years of experience in mechanical design for a wide variety of commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. He joins SSOE as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and is responsible for field survey and data collection, building analysis, code search, establishment of HVAC design criterion / concepts, development of conceptual, preliminary and final engineering documents, specifications, schedules, design studies, and reports. Thompson received his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois and is a Certified Energy Engineer through the City of Chicago.
