This week on New Mexico in Focus, correspondent Russell Contreras sits down with author and journalist Gustavo Arellano, creator of the formerly syndicated column “Ask a Mexican.” Arellano talks about the importance of alternative newsweeklies, free speech, and Latino representation in the media.

Host Gene Grant and a special Line opinion panel of local journalists continue to count down the stories that defined 2018. This week, they break down the top five stories of the year, and look at how those issues will impact the state moving into a new year.
