Since it's inception in May 1965, The Advocates' Society has remained dedicated to promoting excellence in advocacy while fostering an environment for Ontario advocates to discuss issues affecting the legal profession and share information about their respective practices and skill development. As Mr. Isadore Levinter, Q.C. commented at The Advocates' Society's first meeting:
"I consider this first meeting of the Society an historic occassion. In these times of unrest, when the rights and liberties of the people are slowly being infringed upon and taken away ... we needs more than ever a strong, independent and courageous bar."
