Thief River Falls, MINN. (November 1, 2010) - Students from the Cosmetology Program at Northland Community & Technical College in Thief River Falls attended the InSalon 2010 Hair Show in St. Paul, Minnesota. The event is billed as the Upper Midwest Event for Beauty Professionals, and is sponsored by the Minnesota Salon & Spa Professional Association.

Students Lyn Sebenaler and SamieJo Agre spent their weekend styling hair and competing with other beauty industry students.

“I am so proud of the students who made this effort to prove their talent against so many other stylists. Their work was fabulous,” stated Vicki Thompson, Cosmetology Instructor at NCTC. The students made the effort to obtain outfits from Beautiful Beginnings and Sara Mickelson was easy to work with added Thompson. The Northland students entered the student completion in the hair division. The InSalon 2010 Hair Show was held at the St. Paul River Centre October 17th & 18th. The students took the initiative to make travel arrangements, hotel accommodations, and secured outfits for their models, said Thompson. “They really took this opportunity to the fullest extent-and their hair style designs really prove their talent in this field.”

In addition to competing in events, the students provide Cosmetology services to local customers. Each semester at Northland, the students provide their talent with reduced -price services. This year the student cosmetologists are offering their services thru December 17th. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 218-683-8671.
