Ultra-HD 4K is the industry standard for ultra-high definition and is increasingly featured on televisions, and now, camcorders, and was prominently featured as a flagship technology at the recently-completed Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

With the emergence of Sony high-definition camcorders in the consumer market, the Sony XAVC S video format has been widely adopted by video enthusiasts. To ensure users have the most comprehensive Ultra-HD 4K video editing experience, CyberLink PowerDirector 12 now provides full compatibility of XAVC S video format support.

“Ultra-HD 4K devices have emerged as the latest ‘must have’ gadget in the consumer market; this message was certainly reinforced at this month’s CES in Las Vegas. With our significant investment in research and development, CyberLink is able to quickly offer solutions that empower its customers to embrace the excitement of creating their own videos in ultra-high definition,” said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink. “With this, PowerDirector 12 users can now create and produce video content at a whole new level of quality and realism.”

CyberLink PowerDirector 12 takes full advantage of XAVC S format support for 4K video production. With XAVC S format support, PowerDirector supports video clips with maximum resolution of 4K (3,840 x 2,160), with MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 compression, up to 60 frames per second, and up to 150Mbps.
