PSG Introduces New Econ Product Lines of Hot Runner Manifold Systems and Hot Runner Controls

Available for both hot runner manifold systems and hot runner controls, the Econ lines from PSG offer a cost-effective balance of features to fit a broad range of applications.

CHICAGO, Ill., June 22, 2009 –

PSG Plastic Service Group officials announced today at NPE 2009 the introduction of its new Econ strategy: two new product lines of hot runner manifold systems and hot runner controls. Suitable for a broad range of applications, Econ products offer tool makers and molders new cost-effective options for plastics manufacturing. Econ products are manufactured in PSG facilities in Germany and the United States, and are now commercially available.

Econ-Trol Controllers Combine Quality, Low Cost and Ease of Ordering

The new Econ-Trol hot runner controller offers key features such as PID auto-tuning, soft-start function, heating current display, and alarm contactors. A design focus on the essentials provides users with advantages both in price as well as operation. Important data can be displayed and controlled with just a few manual selections.

The Econ-Trol controller was designed for ease of use, and in fact operation was designed to be self-explanatory. The Econ-trol controller may be ordered through the newly created website

www.econ-trol.com

, which is dedicated to the product.

Thermoject®-Econ Hot Runner Manifold Systems Bring Flexibility, Fast Delivery

The new Thermoject®-Econ hot runner manifold system is offered in five standardized  manifold heights (33, 40, 50, 60 and 70 mm), which increases availability and shortens lead times. The height of the manifold is coordinated to the diameter of the respective melt channel. Thermoject®-Econ systems are available as components only (user-assembled), unitized (complete drop in system: including all plumbing and wiring) and as complete hot halves (two- and three-plate versions are available that bolt onto the mold). When Thermoject®-Econ systems are combined with PSG’s broad range of nozzle selections, user options are almost limitless. Thermoject®-Econ systems are suitable for a very wide range of applications, including applications with manifold melt channels ranging from 8mm. to 24mm., and shot weights from 0.5 grams to 6000 grams.

About PSG

On January 1, 1962, two entrepreneurs named August Fuchslocher and Richard Rohlf founded PSG in Mannheim, Germany for the targeted marketing of two unique products,

the Fuchslocher Shut-off Nozzle and the Rohlf Temperature Controller. These two developments set directional milestones in the, at the time, still very young branch of plastic processing.

The successful marketing of these two original products produced an intimate knowledge of the requirements of the market, and led to an expansion of PSG’s product range to include hot runner systems, control systems, temperature units and chillers, and heaters. The founders’ focus on customer service as the foundation of company operations has fueled PSG’s continuous growth from a small business to today’s fast-growing enterprise, and has led to the establishment of manufacturing locations in both Germany and the United States to serve a global customer base. PSG has direct operations or representatives situated in 30 countries around the world. In North America, PSG manufactures products in Stevensville, MI, and has service center locations in Windsor, Ontario and Duncan, South Carolina. PSG plans to open two additional service centers in North America later in 2009.
