PSG’s New RC5 Nozzle Tip Dramatically Reduces Time to Color Change, Along With Fewer Flow Lines When Molding with Metallic Pigments.

CHICAGO, Ill., June 22, 2009 –

PSG Plastic Service Group officials announced today at NPE 2009 the market introduction of its new RC5 Nozzle Tip. Industrial trials by PSG demonstrated improved color change properties and a shortened duration in the time it takes to change color – ranging from 50% - 97%.

The RC5 Nozzle tip was developed for applications that mold with metallic pigment. Industrial trials proved the RC5 does allow for rapid color changes, visible flow lines are greatly reduced and in some cases eliminated.  RC5 nozzle tips are manufactured in PSG facilities in Mannheim, Germany and Stevensville, MI. One standard worldwide and are commercially available.

RC5 nozzle tips replace PSG’s RX nozzle tips for use with PSG’s Mikro-nozzle series. Designed for excellent performance on polyolefin and similar materials used for caps and closure applications.

About PSG

On January 1, 1962, two entrepreneurs named August Fuchslocher and Richard Rohlf founded PSG in Mannheim, Germany for the targeted marketing of two unique products,

the Fuchslocher Shut-off Nozzle and the Rohlf Temperature Controller. These two developments set directional milestones in the, at the time, still very young branch of plastic processing.

The successful marketing of these two original products produced an intimate knowledge of the requirements of the market, and led to an expansion of PSG’s product range to include hot runner systems, control systems, temperature units and chillers, and heaters. The founders’ focus on customer service as the foundation of company operations has fueled PSG’s continuous growth from a small business to today’s fast-growing enterprise, and has led to the establishment of manufacturing locations in both Germany and the United States to serve a global customer base. PSG has direct operations or representatives situated in 30 countries around the world. In North America, PSG manufactures products in Stevensville, MI, and has service center locations in Windsor, Ontario and Duncan, South Carolina. PSG plans to open two additional service centers in North America later in 2009.
