NTT DoCoMo summer 2009 models begin releasingwith Acrodea’s VIVID UI®, VIVID Movie, VIVID Avatar Maker™

May 19, 2009 (Tokyo, Japan)—VIVID UI®, VIVID Movie, and VIVID Avatar Maker™ developed by Acrodea, Inc. (President: Junya Tsutsumi), headquartered in Meguro-ku, Tokyo, have been implemented to the summer 2009 models to be released from NTT Docomo, Inc. (CEO and President: Ryuji Yamada), headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.

Under the master license agreement announced in August 2007, Acrodea’s VIVID UI and VIVID Movie have been implemented to all 62 models (excluding a portion) released from NTT Docomo since the 905i series. Among the new models to be released for summer 2009, 16 models (see attachment) have been implemented. VIVID UI and VIVID Movie by Acrodea are compatible with the Kisekae Tool® service provided by NTT DoCoMo. VIVID UI is also compatible with Direct Menu, as well as the new i-Concier® and i-Widget® services by NTT DoCoMo. Last but not least, the new VIVID UI feature option VIVID UI Effect Framework announced on April 13, 2009 can embed to UI (user interfaces) complicated and superb screen transition effects that generate a pleasant usage feel for users.

In addition, VIVID Avatar Maker, jointly developed by Acrodea and Eitarosoft, Inc. (President and CEO: Eitaro Nishijima), headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, has been implemented as “i-Avatar Maker,” which is also compatible with i-Concier®. The compatibility means that avatars created in i-Avatar Maker can be used as Machikyara®. Uploading avatar data created with i-Avatar Maker to the i-Avatar™ mobile site operated by D2 Communications provides a link for displaying such avatars on SNS, Deco Mail®, profiles, games, etc.

Plans call for the successive release of mobile handsets implemented with VIVID UI, VIVID Movie, and VIVID Avatar Maker in May and beyond.
