'Baled' out by staff

Forget the barn raising in the film ‘Witness’, it was delivery day for the straw for Northumberland Wildlife Trust’s new Hauxley building yesterday.

Local farmers Rosie and George Barber (via the charity’s Trustee John Barber) had very kindly donated the straw to the wildlife charity who needed to store it in preparation for the commencement of building work next spring. 

Many hands certainly do make light work, and it was a great team effort by Trust staff who managed to get the 800 bales stacked into the storage barn despite the blistering heat. Many thanks also to David Knox for baling the straw.
