Litchfield, Ill. (KSDK) Feb 05, 2012  -- It may come as a surprise, but a local company will be playing a big part in Super Bowl Sunday. The helmets nearly all the Giants will be wearing are products of Litchfield, Illinois about an hour outside St. Louis.

Litchfield, Illinois is doing big things with an internationally-known company responsible for products we've all seen or used.
 

Schutt Sports is the world's leading maker of football helmets and faceguards. Company officials said three out of four pro football players take the field wearing Schutt gear.
 

"Everybody at our company loves football and we take our jobs very seriously," said spokesman Glenn Beckmann.
 

On Super Bowl Sunday, Schutt helmets will be on display for the entire world to see. Company officials said 80 percent of the Giants players will be making small town Illinois very proud.
 

Schutt officials said every American can be proud of the great work being done at home.
 

"Our new ownership and management team are dedicated to being an American manufacturer and what we do, we do really well," said Glenn Beckmann.
 

In addition to manufacturing products for professional teams, Schutt also supplies goods for local and national high school and college teams.
