COLUMBUS

, Ohio

, December 18, 2009 — The Ohio Employee Confidence Index increased 1.2 points to 48.2 in November, according to the latest Spherion

®

Employment Report. The monthly survey conducted by Harris Interactive®on behalf of Spherion Corporation (NYSE:SFN), reveals that more workers believe more jobs are available; however fewer workers are confident in their ability to find a new job.

Results from the Ohio Employment Report:

  • Sixteen percent of workers believe that more jobs are available, an increase of eight percentage points from October.

  • The number of workers confident in their ability to find a new job dipped to 34 percent, a three-percentage-point drop from the previous month.

  • More workers (41 percent) are likely to job hunt, an increase of nine percentage points from October.

"

Given the volatile job market over the last year, the upward trend in overall optimism among Ohio workers is a promising indicator that workers are feeling more confident in the job market

," said Robert Schulte, Spherion franchise owner in Ohio. "Although our unemployment rate increased just slightly, and many previously unemployed are still seeking jobs, we are experiencing some slight improvement in areas such as goods-producing and service providing jobs.

In fact, we are having more conversations with our clients about preparing for an economic turnaround- which is good news

."
