Olympus Unveils New Dissolvable Post Sinus Surgery Products

Exclusive Agreement grants Olympus’ ENT Group exclusive US product distribution

Center Valley, PA, January 5, 2012 —

Olympus, a precision technology leader in designing and delivering innovative solutions in Medical and Surgical Products, among other core businesses, today announced the addition of a broad line of advanced, dissolvable sinus spacing and hemostat products to its already extensive ENT product portfolio. These products include spacers, foams and powders available in either plant-based or chitosan polysaccharide polymers.

Through a distribution partnership withHemostasis, LLC, the plant-based and chitosan compositions have been formulated to improve post sinus surgery recovery, comfort and healing.  All products are biocompatible, dissolve naturally, require no mixing or special storage considerations and are easily conformed to fit nasal anatomy. Additionally, the sinus products minimize edema, bleeding and prevent post operative adhesions by maintaining space between the upper chambers of the nasal cavities.
