Open ModelSphere 3.1 – an Important Update of the Free Modeling Software – is Now Available

Quebec, QC, Canada – November 4, 2009 - Grandite today announced that it released Open ModelSphere version 3.1, an important update of its free application modeling and enterprise architecture tool.

“A bi-directional interface to Java has been added, i.e. class models can be generated from Java code and vice versa. Exploiting the advantages of Java 6, the user interface has undergone a major makeover: The Look & Feel has been upgraded, menus have been reorganized and numerous features been added to improve the intuitive use as well as the UML compliance of the application”, states Axel Troike, President. “The lion’s share of credits for this version goes to our cooperation partner neosapiens (http://www.neosapiens.com). They delivered major contributions based on their profound knowledge of the application’s architecture as well as their Java expertise.”

Open ModelSphere, a Java application licensed under GPL, covers conceptual, logical and physical data modeling and includes generic forward / reverse engineering and synchronization of databases. Traditional business process modeling as well as the established diagrams of UML modeling are supported. Grandite offers interfaces for DB2 UDB, Informix and Oracle as commercial plug-ins. Its service portfolio for Open ModelSphere includes maintenance & support, training classes, consulting and individual development on demand.
