Southwest Airlines continues to track the wintry storm system as it moves through the Northeast, monitoring conditions to modify our operational plan as necessary.

Due to anticipated operational conditions, Southwest Airlines has proactively canceled nearly 130 flights systemwide for Saturday, Dec. 14 and Sunday, Dec. 15.

For context, Southwest Airlines operates approximately 3200 daily flights systemwide; AirTran Airways operates approximately 410 daily flights systemwide.

Our main focus is on the Safety of our Customers and Employees, while making sure our flights operate safely to their destinations.

Operational planners for both Southwest and AirTran are coordinating with our Meteorologists to track the progress of the storm and evolve our Customer accommodation policies, which arealready being updated at this link on southwest.com.

City-specific cancelation numbers can be calculated by visiting the websites of the individual airports. We have City Fact Sheets that provide general information about our destinations served, number of daily flights, facilities, and employment numbers.
