Align your Hoshin Plan and Lean Six Sigma initiative for successful Business Execution.

Strategy – or to be precise, the fast, effective execution of each new wave of strategy – is now the key concern of all senior executives, whether in the private or public sector. It’s a challenge because organizations have always struggled to execute strategy, and now they are required to do it rapidly and repeatedly in an environment where errors are often fatal.

The concept of Hoshin Planning (sometimes know as policy deployment or goal deployment) is a popular methodology which addresses this issue. In theory the true benefits of Hoshin Planning are realized when the business objectives are successfully linked and aligned to actions and initiatives, such as Lean Six Sigma. In practice, however, few organizations have been able to realize this potential and integrate these processes successfully, and most that try have found that it quickly degenerates into a form of spreadsheet madness.
