Largemouth Communications, a full-service public relations firm, has been selected by The Pantry as the company’s public relations agency.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – July 20, 2010 – Largemouth Communications, a full-service public relations firm, has been selected by The Pantry as the company’s public relations agency.

The Pantry, most commonly known for its Kangaroo Express® operating banner, is the leading independently operated convenience store chain in the southeastern United States and one of the largest in the nation with more than 1,600 stores across 11 states.

Largemouth is developing the public relations strategy and implementing programs to promote The Pantry’s new Fresh Initiative and provide additional corporate public relations support.

The Fresh Initiative introduces customers to an improved great-tasting Bean Street Coffee and new fresh food options in a fast, friendly and clean store environment. In additional to national trade media campaigns, Largemouth is developing local media relations campaigns in Raleigh, Charlotte, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Gainesville, Fla. for the initial launch of the program. More than 100 stores will launch the program before the end of the calendar year, and all 1,642 stores by 2011.

Largemouth also supports other corporate public relations initiatives, such as promotion of The Pantry’s quick serve restaurant (QSR) partnerships, including Dairy Queen and Subway, social media programs and philanthropic activities.
