UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- With a large number of events taking place this weekend at Penn State, the event parking program will be activated campus wide beginning Friday, Feb. 28, through Sunday, March 2.
More than 80 educational, athletic and entertainment events are planned on campus this weekend.
Events staff will be on site at many of our parking facilities. Additional restrictions for overnight parking will be in place. A parking fee will be charged to anyone accessing University parking facilities throughout the weekend without a current Penn State University Park parking permit properly displayed.
Kiosk booths on Pollock Road will be staffed and all vehicles entering Pollock Road will be required to stop. Access to Lot Brown A will be from the west end of Pollock Road only beginning Friday evening. Motorists not seeking parking are asked to please use an alternate route to cross campus.
Several lots will be restricted as "No Overnight Parking." Additional signs will be posted at the lot entrance.
Faculty, staff and students that will be bringing a vehicle to campus this weekend are reminded to make sure your current parking permit is properly displayed to avoid additional fees.
Students from other Penn State campuses are reminded that Commonwealth Campus student parking permits are not valid for overnight parking at University Park on designated event weekends. Students from other campuses wishing to park overnight will be required to purchase the weekend event parking permit.
Everyone parking on campus this weekend can expect many parking areas to reach capacity. Please allow extra time to use an alternate parking area and reach your destination.
All parking regulations will be strictly enforced, and vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed, and may be towed at the owner’s expense.
In an effort to meet the additional demand and maintain a high level of service for regular transit customers, CATA in cooperation with Transportation Services will be adding buses to various routes this week. For more information, contact the CATA office at 814-238-2282.
