Penn State Beaver United Way Committee exceeds $5,000 goal

The Penn State Beaver 2013 United Way Committee announced that it exceeded its $5,000 goal by raising $5,331.10 from campus faculty, staff and students. The funds were given to the United Way of Beaver County.

The committee raised funds through a variety of on-campus activities, including a gift basket auction, sales of Penn State Berkey Creamery ice cream half-gallons, Penn State T-shirts, personal solicitations and dress down days. The campus hockey team, The Fightin’ Beaves, raised $300 for the project.

Committee members were Dana Alvetro, program assistant, Office of Continuing Education; Ted Froats, manager of information technology; Parker Goolsby, coordinator of residence life; Cindy Platz, staff assistant, Office of Finance and Business; Renata Shaw, staff assistant, Offices of the Chancellor, Campus and Community Relations, and the Brodhead Cultural Center; Claudia Tanaskovic, instructor in chemistry, Justin Vorbach, admissions counselor; and Jennie Ward, staff assistant, Offices of the Registrar and the Division of Undergraduate Studies.
