More than 50 Hospitals and Healthcare Providers Benefit from Increased Uptime and Application Availability

Redwood City, Calif. - February 23, 2010 - Nimsoft, Inc., the first provider ofUnified Monitoring

™ solutions, announced that PHNS is using the Nimsoft Monitoring Solution (NMS) to monitor its own IT infrastructure as well as the mixed-platform IT environments of roughly 50 of its healthcare clients. PHNS uses NMS to monitor all servers, routers, firewalls, and mission-critical applications in these environments. Clients experience reduced downtime, increased application availability and better overall network performance.

PHNS provides comprehensive information technology and business process services to hospitals, healthcare providers and other businesses across the United States. With so much critical healthcare information to manage, uptime and reliability are critical for PHNS’ clients. However, PHNS’ previous monitoring solution from a legacy IT management vendor was complex and overly time consuming to configure and manage. In the interest of reducing administration overhead and gaining greater capabilities, PHNS switched to Nimsoft.

“The alerting capabilities of NMS allow us to provide rapid troubleshooting of network issues, and we can keep tabs on multiple clients’ environments from a single dashboard,” said Kent Smith, Chief Technology Officer at PHNS. “We are the IT department for our clients, so it’s critical we have insight into all aspects of the enterprise infrastructure at all times. Nimsoft has been extremely responsive and helpful in continuing to develop advanced capabilities that allow us to efficiently monitor the dynamic infrastructure environments of our clients with a single solution.”

PHNS is also using Nimsoft APIs to create an interface from NMS to PHNS’ trouble ticketing system from Wendia. When NMS detects a problem, it auto-opens a ticket in the ticketing system and sends it to the service team responsible for the device, making it faster and easier for the team to isolate, remediate and track incidents. In addition to faster time-to-repair, NMS has also helped PHNS reduce management and administration costs.

“NMS has enabled PHNS to grow cost-effectively without increasing staff to manage additional client environments,” said Gary Read, Nimsoft president and CEO. “Availability of the network is crucial in healthcare environments, but so is cost-control. With Nimsoft, PHNS can guarantee optimal network performance and fast problem resolution, without the high cost of equipment and staff additions. We’re thrilled to be helping PHNS provide superior network availability and uptime, so its clients can improve the level of care they provide to patients.”
